Applications for the 2019 France-Berkeley Fund competition will be open in early fall.
The France-Berkeley Fund considers projects jointly submitted by a tenured or tenure-track professor (or a researcher with a permanent position) at UC Berkeley or UC Davis and a professor or researcher with a permanent affiliation with a French public research institution or institution of higher learning. The Fund aims to encourage and support original research of the highest quality and new collaborations, and especially seeks to support projects involving younger scholars. Priority will be given to projects such as workshops or conferences (especially in the human sciences) designed to generate new research strategies, and projects that maximize the number of researchers involved.
Projects can be funded to a maximum of $12,000 USD.
Sponsored projects can begin between July 1 and December 31 of the application year, and must be completed within one year of their start date.
